Pelorus Bridge Camping ground
Pelorus Bridge camping ground is a lovely setting by the Pelorus River and the bush nearby with excellent facilities and beautiful grass. This campground was one of the filming locations for “The Hobbit”.
A camping deposit of one night’s fee is required and has to be paid at the time of booking. No refunds will be given if you wish to cancel. No pets are allowed.
Facilities and Services
There are a number of 37 tent sites with clean modern facilities including toilets and hot showers, kitchen area with gas cookers and stunning river views, Picnic Tables and Rubbish bins are provided for your convenience.
The Shop and cafe is open daily all year round for drinks, home-cooked meals, snacks, ice creams and souvenirs.
On-site public telephones are provided. Please note there is no mobile phone coverage in the area.
Things to do
This place is very popular for swimming, kayaking and canoeing. You will find great picnic and fishing spots. There are many walks to explore here including the two waterfalls walk which is highly recommended and if you go at night you may get to see the glowworms.
