Raglan is situated west of Hamilton and is known as surfers’ paradise. It is Waikato’s only seaside resort. Formerly known as Whangaroa, Raglan is a coastal town with a number of beaches and harbour such as Te Kopua beach and Te Aro Aro Bay close to Raglan and popular for swimming.
Raglan is a popular tourist spot in summer particularly for surfers and those that enjoy water sports. A popular beach in Raglan, world famous for its surfing, is Whale Bay because of its left-hand break, a 10 minute drive south along the coast.

There are lots to do here, and is a small, relaxing and friendly environment.
The 25km drive south along Raglan’s thin coastal Whaanga Road offers breathtaking views of the rugged coastline and the Tasman Sea.
