Ski Resort

Hanmer springs is a small friendly club ski field with groomed trails and on field backpacker accommodation costing $25 per night.
Hanmer springs offers 52 hectares of great terrain for both skiing and snowboarding. The field is open from during July – September depending on snow fall.
Hanmer springs is located about 155km from Christchurch.

Ski and snowboard hire equipment is available on the field as well as Food and drink. A daily shuttle service is available from Hammer Springs village.

There is very good learners’ area and good intermediate terrain on groomed trails, off-piste challenges for the more advanced and great snowboarding with natural and groomed pipe riding.

2WDs will require chains for most of the season. These can be hired at the Hanmer springs village service station.
