Check the snow report which is available from most ski area hotels from 7am daily. It will also advice if chains may be required
Remember to carry chains on mountain access roads. A chain hire and fitting service is available on the Remarkables and Mt. Hutt access roads, but is not available at Coronet Peak. Therefore guests are advised to check the snow report to see if it necessary to hire chains in Queenstown before departing for Coronet Peak.
Free car parking is available near the base lodge at each ski area.
Mountain transfers are available from town
It is important you take with you warm, waterproof gloves, a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses or goggles for the shade/cloud. These are not included with clothing hire. They can also be bought from SnoShop on the mountain.
Dress Code: Stay warm and check the weather forecast each morning before getting dressed and leaving. Don’t wear a cotton under layer or you will feel cold. Instead wear a thermal layer.
If you have rented clothing and gear, these can be left in the mountain storage department overnight at no charge, or for a small fee for personal clothing.
NZSki.com rental equipment can be swapped, exchanged or upgraded at anytime.
You can collect your gear at Coronet Peak and return to the Remarkables or vice versa.
Children: 6 years and under receive a free day lift pass at Coronet Peak and Mt. Hutt Ski areas. Children 10 years and under receive a free day lift pass at the Remarkables Ski area. This does not include clothing or equipment. Child rates apply to those 16 years and under.
Make sure you get travel insurance as you never know if and when an accident could happen
Lifts operate between 9am – 4pm daily, weather and snow conditions permitting. At Coronet Peak on a Friday and Saturday night the lift operates till 9pm, for night skiing.
To save queuing on the mountain you can exchange your voucher at a downtown Snow Centre in Queenstown or Methven.
