Manganui Ski Area is situated on Mount Taranaki in the western North Island, 4.5hrs drive from Auckland. It is the only ski field on Taranaki and is a welcoming club field run by Stratford Mountain Club.
Facilities offered here include two natural half pipes, gentle slope for beginners, intermediate slopes and great terrain for advanced skiers and snowboarders.
There are a total of three lifts on the mountain, these are a Beginners tow lift, Intermediate T-bar, and top tow for those more advanced skiers and snowboarders. The Top Tow offers a number of steep runs about 1 km long and The T-Bar offers open runs and an uncrowded area for beginners.
The field is 5% Beginner, 30% Intermediate and 65% Advanced.
This is a great place for families and beginners to advanced skiers. On field accommodation is also provided.
Manganui Ski Area’s season runs early June to late October however this depends on snow fall. The opening times are from 9.30am to 4pm.
Entrance to the ski field is through a 16km sealed access road to the car park, with a 20 minute walk from the car park to the ski field.
