Ski Resort

Mount Hutt ski resort is located in Canterbury in the Methven Region of the South Island approx 90 minutes drive from Christchurch city (94 kms). It’s one of the most popular skiing resorts in New Zealand and one of the closest ski fields to Christchurch. It’s estimated that an average of 4.5 m of snow falls here annually. At Mount Hutt you can experience some of the great features that it has to offer like the half pipe and natural terrain park for snowboaders. It offers beginners, intermediate and advanced slopes, and wide open slopes for those wanting to snowboard. There’s even a licenced Brasserie, cafe, ski and snowboarding school and a kids centre and licenced creche so even parents can have fun on the snow. If your planning to ski for more than one day then we recommend the superpass. With the superpass you can choose when and where you want to ski or snowboad and you can plan your trip according to the weather. Mt Hutt is well known for its six month ski season from May till October. For 2006, Mt Hutt will remain open until the end of Labour Weekend (23rd October).
