Ski Resort
Temple Basin is a tall alpine club field in the heart of a national park, surrounded by wonderful mountains. It is a favourite ski resort among snowboarders because of its excellent 320 hectares of terrain including basins, chutes and natural half pipes, accessible via 3 rope tows and some hiking along the ridges.
Temple Basin is suitable for skiers and boarders of all abilities from beginners to advance. Night skiing is also available where the main tow is flood lit.
On Field Accommodation is provided here as well with two backpacker style lodges sleeping up to 120 people, situated right beside the main tow. The lodge facilities include kitchen, living and dining rooms with views of the mountain, hot showers, canteen, bar, telephone, first aid and conference rooms.
Since it’s positioned on the main divide of the Southern Alps, Temple Basin gets its weather from the west and frequently has more snow than other areas.
