Why Ski Wanaka?
Wanaka is New Zealand’s favourite destination for Skiing and snowboarding in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s famous for it’s fabulous snow and huge landscape with amazing views, including those of Lake Wanaka. You will also find an excellent range of accomodation. Plus you will find a good selection of activities and attractions for all the family. Some of these include a scenic helicopter tour that will take you on an adventure across the moutains and terrains of Wanaka, or maybe you’d prefer to try one of Wanaka’s wide range of back country adventure like ice climbing and heliskiing with one of New Zealand’s most experienced mountain guiding operations. Best of all you don’t need to be an expert or know how to ski as there are beginner slopes and professional skiers to help you learn.

Wanaka’s Winter Resort has a total of four alpine mountain resorts. Cardrona, Treble Cone, Snow Park NZ and Snow Farm . At Cardrona you will find plenty of wide open spaces, so you can enjoy and avoid overcrowding, plus there is plenty of dry, powdery snow. Cardrona is the most committed alpine resort for snowboarders too with 4 half pipes and a natural snow park. There’s also a licenced kids centre so the parents can relax and enjoy their own skiing. Over at theTreble Cone resort, located 26kms west of the Lake Wanaka, you can enjoy the largest ski area and highest vertical rise in the South Island. Like Cardrona, Treble Cone too has congestion free slopes which is great news if your a beginner. You will find planty of groomed and off-piste intermediate grounds and exciting and challenging chutes and pipes for the more talented skiers and snowboarders. Snow Park NZ caters for beginners through to advanced. This Park features the unspoiled Superpipe, among two other halfpipes. Snow Park also features a quarter pipe, a choice of rails, jumps and other terrain features and it has one of the most well prepared trails in the world that are groomed and snow fenced to provide you with the best possible conditions. The trails cater for all levels, young or old, beginner or expert. Sit down and relax at sunset and enjoy breath taking views of the Southern Alps, river basins and rolling hills. You are guaranteed not to be disappointed here at Wanaka Winter Resort.
