It is regarded as the best place to learn to ski for adults and children. Driving up to the Remarkables some may find the road a little daunting, however the good thing about it are the amazing views wherever you look.

It has 3 terrain parks with enough hits and features to satisfy you all season long. Once on the ski field you get magnificent views of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps.

At the Remarkables lookout you can checkout the famous views and it is this simply amazing scenery that attracts film crews, photographers and TV shows.

It is suitable for a broad range of abilities such as beginners, intermediate/advanced skiers and boarders, families, freeriders and off-piste adventurers.

The mountain offers plenty of big mountain turns. If you want some adventure then try out the sugar bowl offering challenging terrain with plenty of chutes and cliff drops. If you want something a little mellower then try out the intermediate groomed trails which make up 45% of the terrain.

The Remarkables have 3 quad chairs serving a vertical drop of 357 meters with advanced and intermediate trails from top to bottom.
There is a beginner’s area just below the day lodge next to the car park.

A shuttle service is available from either Queenstown or the base of the access road.

You get some stunning views of the Southern Alps with Lake Coleridge sparkling below.

There have been some fantastic mountain improvements in 2007 and 2008 including the new modern café and bar, the new ‘Ski-Mat’ carpet lift is also a popular addition that transports beginners up the slope with ease.

At Porter Heights you will find skiing and boarding for all abilities, and a superb ski school. Advanced skiers and boarders will love two well-known runs: 38-degree double black diamond Bluff Face and Big Mama, said to be the longest run in the area with 620 metres of vertical drop.
